Hello

I sit at the intersection of media, community, and servant leadership. That looks like running an independent publication, mobilising ground-up community work where institutional aid runs slow, and hosting a cross-regional initiative — supporting people and businesses moving between Gulf and Southeast Asia regions. The thread underneath all of it: rebuilding the muscle of seeing the human on the other side of the screen.

My Story

The conviction underneath everything I do: in a polarised, algorithmic feed environment, our skill at reading each other has atrophied. We've outsourced empathy to feeds designed to enrage. The civic muscle of recognising the human on the other side of the screen is weakening. And most journalism, most earned media, most brand content makes it worse. It flatters the in-group, demonises the out-group, or talks past everyone.

Good human-interest journalism is one of the few formats that consistently does the opposite. It moves a reader from "those people" to "that person." That movement — quiet, durable, hard to measure — is the work I keep showing up to. In a publication. In a community. In a conversation about a region most people have never thought of in the same sentence.
